What time is check-in and checkout?

Check-in is at 4 pm and checkout is at 11 am. If you’d like to arrive a little earlier, early check-in from 2 pm is $25, and late checkout until 1 pm is also $25. Just let us know ahead of time.

What if we’re arriving late?

No problem at all. We send self check-in instructions by email and text the morning of your arrival, so you can get settled whenever you get in.

Where do we park?

Our private guest lot is behind the inn, with the entrance on South Street (across from the PPG Paint store). Look for the “Carlisle House Guest Parking” signs. You’re welcome to leave your car in the lot after checkout while you enjoy downtown.

How do we get in?

Please use the side door off the parking lot, to the left of the wooden fence. Your door code is in your self check-in email and text. The front door on Hanover Street is an emergency exit only.

Can we drop off bags before check-in?

Our housekeepers use the time before 4 pm to prepare rooms, so we can’t take bags early, but you’re welcome to park and explore town.

What is your cancellation policy?

For most stays, please cancel at least 14 days before check-in. For Special Event Dates, Holidays, and groups of 5 or more rooms, the cancellation window is 60 days, and reservations made through Expedia, Booking.com, or other online travel agencies have a 31-day window. Once a reservation is inside its cancellation window, payment is non-refundable, including no-shows and early departures. Do you allow pets?

We’re a pet-free inn, out of care for guests with allergies.

Is the inn accessible? Is there an elevator?

The Carlisle House is a historic building and doesn’t have an elevator. Our first-floor rooms are the easiest to reach, and the Hearth room has its own outdoor entrance closest to the parking lot. Call us and we’ll help you find the best fit.

Do any rooms have a kitchen?

Yes. The Penn Suite and Bailey Suite each have a private kitchen, and all guests are welcome to use the shared kitchen in our common room.

Can we bring the kids?

Absolutely. Our suites work well for families, and additional children are $25 per night.

Is there a minimum stay?

Most nights you can book a single night. Some busy weekends require 2 nights, and special events like Dickinson graduation and Corvettes at Carlisle require 3.

How far ahead can we book?

Our calendar opens about a year in advance. Graduation weekend tends to sell out quickly, so book early.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi. Network details are in your check-in email.
